Where Heart & Mind Collide

Trusting the Plan

Life often feels uncertain, but what if everything happens for a reason? There's a belief that nothing in life is random and how every experience, whether good or bad, is part of a bigger design guiding us toward our true purpose. By trusting the process, we can find peace in the knowledge that our lives are unfolding exactly as they should.

You know that saying, "Tell God your plans and watch Him laugh"? Depending on how literal you take it, it may or may not be laughter, but He certainly has me very comfortable with life’s many detours. This idea suggests that no matter how much we plan, life often unfolds in ways we don’t expect, and sometimes, things don’t go according to our own designs. It's a reminder of humility and trusting that there’s a bigger plan at work.

Right now, I’m trusting this because only a few short months ago, the plan looked incredibly different. A lot has changed in just the last two weeks, and it invites a lot of belief and trust into the unknown. It also breeds excitement and offers an opportunity to surrender to the flow of things. It challenges me to trust God as I have so many times before. I have no idea what the reasoning is, but I trust that the stir in my soul—one that wouldn’t allow me to relax—and the discomfort I’ve been feeling recently, were enough to make me let go and see where the pull is taking me.

Lots of disappointment and hurt have come with this decision, but the future is exciting, and I’m eager to see how it all unfolds. I’ve made some big moves in my life and have never not been okay, so here’s to the shift and climbing ladders toward your dreams while also diving off into the deep end. Who’s with me?

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future". Jeremiah 29:11
